Shopify SEO
Collections, variants, duplicate URLs, apps and theme issues fixed at the source.
What we do
Shopify gets a store live quickly, but its defaults create SEO problems that themes and apps quietly add to. Products reachable through several collection paths, variants competing with each other and apps injecting scripts or duplicate schema all make it harder for Google, and the AI answers drawn from its index, to settle on the right page. We fix these in the theme and settings, not with another app.
What we work on
- Theme links pointed at the main product URL instead of the collection-path copies Shopify generates.
- Size and colour variants handled so they strengthen one product page rather than splitting it.
- Tag pages, filtered collections and thin paginated pages kept out of the index where they add nothing.
- Theme markup cleaned up: duplicate or broken Product schema, missing alt text, heading tags used only for styling.
- An app review: leftover code from uninstalled apps, and apps that slow the storefront or rewrite pages.
- robots.txt.liquid, sitemaps and URL redirects in Shopify admin checked, so search and AI crawlers reach what matters.
What you get
A fix list for your store that names the theme files and settings each change touches. Once you approve, we ship straight to your Shopify store, and the weekly report shows how rankings and AI citations move afterwards.

Questions
Shopify SEO: common questions
Do we need an SEO app?
Usually not. Most of what SEO apps do can be handled in the theme and Shopify settings, and every extra app adds code to your store. If an app is doing its job well, we keep it.
Can you remove collections from our product URLs?
Shopify always generates those paths, but its canonical tag already points to the main product URL. We change your theme so your own navigation links to that main URL too, which keeps signals in one place.
Will theme changes affect our design?
We limit edits to code that matters for search, such as links, markup, headings and scripts, and you approve each change first. The look of your store stays as it is.
